About Custom Q3:
The concept behind CQ3 is to bring all the fun of Doom, Quake1 and Quake2 to the Q3A engine. Stuff you can do with CQ3 includes customizing:
- The way things look, with Q1 and Q2 HUD settings and models
- Player movement and weapon knockback physics
- Weapon reload time, damage, sound, and speed
- Item respawn time, sound, and amount
- Client spawn health, armor, weapons, and ammo
Other highlights include:
- A fully-configurable jetpack
- Double-jumping from Quake2
- CTF Runes: haste, regen, strength, and resist
- Customizable particle effects
- Additive dynamic light option
- Flashblend-type effect (similar to gl_flashblend in Quake/Quake2)
- Admin System
- Player's head, torso, legs, and sounds can all be chosen independently
- Ability to flip the whole world upside down
- Many things can be made bigger or smaller
- Clan Arena mode that works on normal maps as well as ra3 maps (only 1 arena at a time though)
- Client-side predicted lightning gun and grappling hook
- Items on any map can be customized and saved to a .cfg file
- Game variable .cfg files can be executed by a client with admin on any server
- Three spectator chasecam modes: free-rotating follow, fixed behind follow, and first person view
- Enhanced demo playback: chasecam works and keys other than ESC do not stop the demo
- Several bug fixes, such as the problem of framerate-dependent physics (pm_fixed wasn't a good solution)
